Described on the Borough website as “rural beauty” Upper Saddle River is a much desired address. Once a rural, sleepy town many flocked here to enjoy the tranquil life and open space. Trees, large lots, charming life.
But no more.
The arrival of McMansions and builders who cared little for the trees – with little oversight from the Borough – ensured that the vista and spaciousness suffered. And when Toll Brothers arrived dense housing, questionable soil and congested roads changed the town forever.
High density housing, deer hunting, unscrupulous developers and a population explosion on the town border are just some of the issues. Elected officials are not proactive, transparent or accountable. The preservation of quality of life for families is important.
