May is National Mental Health Month raising awareness of issues about mental illness and related issues. This year May 7 focuses specifically on the mental health of children.
In any normal year sadness, anxiety, depression, insecurity are some issues that children experience, but after a year of covid19 and the associated isolation, disruption of school, limited social interaction, changing landscapes of friendships and so much more children are experiencing significant increase in mental health issues.
1 in 5 children are struggling right now.
That is 1 in every 5 children, an alarming statistic.
They need help, not silence. They need support. Do not assume the smile tells all the story.
Do not assume.
