Hopefully by now you should have received your 2020 Election ballot. If you haven’t received it by October 8th, contact the County Election office at 201-336-7020 for a duplicate. If your head is spinning with adding voting to your list of other head scratching things to deal with you can find some very useful information from the Office of the County Clerk.
Filling The Ballot In
Everyone’s brain is exhausted this year and there seems to be confusion about what to do with it, so how do you fill it in? Here are some helpful videos. Choose one or more.
A youthful, perky how to here.
Or more detailed instruction here.
And a much more detailed one here.
Hopefully these will make it easier and clearer.
Open Space Funding
Residents of Upper Saddle River have the additional question of voting on the question of Open Space funding. It’s on PAGE 2. What is this about? You can read the statement from the mayor here. Read it carefully as taxes will go up, and this is your opportunity to have a say.
What To Do With Your Ballot
You can mail it. The ballot has a postage paid envelope. However, with recent news of change to the United States Post Office service that might not be something everyone wants to do.
You can drop it at your polling location on election day.
Alternatively, you can take it to a drop off location. And there are many.
Remember in New Jersey you have until 8pm on November 3 to drop them off .
And finally once you have voted and returned your ballot you can track it to ensure it has arrived. You will need to set up a secure account.
Whatever you do please vote. Exercise your right as a citizen to take part in democracy. People have died for this right, not everyone has it. Make sure you use it.
Once done, you can relax. You’ve become part of the solution.
