September 1 2018 was rumored to be the start of the Saddle River Deer Cull aka wildlife management.
Except, apparently, now it isn’t.
With many unanswered questions for the residents, and public in general, the cull won’t start today.
Rain date to be decided.
This will allow the many questions and policy guidelines that are missing to be resolved by the town administration.
This will give the majority of residents who voted against this more time for action.
This will give the non-lethal supporters time to fight this.
It is noteworthy that this is a town that has a very detailed Ordinance For The Regulation Of Planting, Growing Or Cultivating Bamboo (Ordinance 18-94C) defining species, barriers and accepted growing methods, guidelines on encroachment on Borough Right Of Way, and detailed guidelines on complaint procedures, yet the hunting of animals, on largely private property, in a humane or inhumane manner has yet to be addressed and receive such thorough regulating.
