And it continues.
With Toll Brothers completion of the purchase of 1 Lake Street in December 208 they have now broken ground on their newest project in Upper Saddle River – The Grove ~ Contemporary Luxury Townhouses.
208 townhomes, including 22 affordable units, along with a clubhouse and pool for the owners to enjoy

And taken down a few trees. (Thankfully there aren’t too many to remove, but they would have clear cut the property anyway)
Several of the trees were, what appears to be, heritage trees, near the edge of the property, but probably not actually on the buffer.
Was it really necessary to remove them?
With all the trees they are taking out do they pay a tree removal permit? And how exactly did it work for the hundreds and hundreds of trees they removed at the old Apple Ridge Golf Club. Did they get a bulk tree removal permit?
Did the town reap the rewards of the tree cutting?
Earliest work going on is along the front edge of the property on Lake Street. More than likely underground piping so the runoff won’t be visible.
Just pumped directly into the sewer system.
Out of the sight of prying eyes.
And what is this all about??
Government property? Isn’t this another entrance into the Pearson property.
Suggestions?
Has anyone seen renderings of what the finished Toll Bros site will loo like? Is that info available at the town hall? How does the town plan to build a soccer field on a sloped property next to Lake Street with so much traffic?
The town Building Dept. will probably have renderings, but there is no guarantee the finished site will adhere to what is planned. Good question about the soccer fields. The occupants of Borough Hall who have bungled numerous significant issues aren’t known for their vision and, while this was sold to residents as a great deal, will probably need a lot of soil moving permits, which of course will drive the cost up….and guess who will be paying? This would be a good question to ask at the next Council meeting. Thanks for your comment!
