If you go to the town’s website, the last planning board’s meeting minutes were on April 10th. Folks, it is July 15th!!!!!!!
Is this responsible governing?
Exactly. With all the development and construction in town there have to be things that need attention. Might be why USR lurches from one thing to another.
That is why, the Citizens of Upper Saddle River have to make sure to vote on Election Day for Marshall Grupp for Mayor and Marc Garbar and Leandra Galasso for Council!!!! We offer new leadership and responsible governing for all citizens of our community!
I am writing from Monmouth County. So surprised to be reading this. I had very high expectations of the people who govern your town! Doesn’t the town of USR have proper zoning ordinances and strict zoning? I always though it was one of the wealthiest towns in NJ and as a town wanted to maintain the quality of life for its citizens. It has the tax base and houses worth millions to maintain that. Is there a fear this town may fall to overdevelopment? Your feedback is appreciated!
Ocean County down here is falling prey to overdevelopment and semi-urbanization. Monmouth County as a whole is very committed to open space preservation balanced with strict residential zoning. I feel so bad for your town if what I am reading is true!
The town is undergoing considerable change right now with 2 housing developments happening, some containing affordable units. For the regular resident it is difficult to know exactly what is going on as the mayor and council aren’t transparent and really have little accountability. Owing to years of stability and little change residents became complacent and had / have little interest in attending meetings or voting so the status quo remained from one administration to another. They literally have done what they want and answered to no one. However, recent years have brought several issues where their incompetence has resulted in problems for the town but complacency by residents allow it continue unchecked. Staggering as we all live here, and will suffer down the line. And yes, what you are reading is true, although if you listen to the administration there is nothing wrong. And still we have floods of toxic stormwater pouring into local streams and rivers from a developer who has done untold damage and is unchecked and probably not fined and there are hundred of new housing units arriving with virtually no planning for new students, infrastructure, etc. Just a little road widening. That is Upper Saddle River. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
