Following the numerous discussions and concerns regarding the arrival of smart meters in Upper Saddle River a resident has written a letter to be presented to the Mayor and Council asking for an ordinance banning them from the town. All residents who wish to be co-signatory can have their name added. If you live in Upper Saddle River you can add your name to this either by notifying the author of the letter via the Citizens For A Better Upper Saddle River Facebook page if you are a member of the group, or send your name and address by email to this website (citizens4usrnj@gmail.com) and we will forward your information to be added to the list.
TO: The Mayor and Council of Upper Saddle River
RE: SmartMeter regulation
I’m sure you’re aware of the dangers & the health risks that have been identified over the years with smart meters that have been installed in various places in our country and elsewhere. These risks are real, and ones that I don’t think you want your citizens in this town nor yourselves to be subjected to. So please, consider passing an ordinance that bans smartmeters from our town, as other cities have done throughout the United States.
Contrary to the belief that this is the law… it is not!!!
While individual opt-out may seem like a reasonable solution it isn’t. Since Smart Meters communicate with each other, they actually create a larger field of EMF that has a greater effect on the citizens of this town whether they have a meter installed or not. Opting-out does not provide the level of protection you would expect. It’s a counterproductive, ineffective way to protect ourselves from high doses of EMF.
We, the citizens of Upper Saddle River, request that the Mayor and Council reject the installation of SmartMeters in our town.
Please find below some of the towns in various states that have rejected SmartMeter installation. We request our town take immediate regulatory action to stop them.
Your consideration and your decision in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The following,
Examples of where SmartMeters have been banned, so far, or where citizens have been allowed to refuse them include:
New Mexico, New Brunswick Canada, Many Cities in California including: : Lake Marin, Mendocino, Santa Cruz, Capitola, Clearlake, Fairfax, Lakeport, Ojai, Rio Dell, Ross, Seaside, Sebastopol, Watsonville, Big Valley Bank of Pomo Indians.
Washington: Port Angeles.
Many Cities in Maine. Many other cities and states allow citizens to refuse the meters with no penalty.
This information is provided to assist residents of Upper Saddle River who may want to opt out. Please do your research and make informed decisions. This post does not intend to sway or persuade – it is the choice of each individual.
I would sign the petition. I have already opted-out.
Very good, hopefully many other residents will also. Thank you for commenting.
