No fancy words. Just thank you for your service.
The Department of Veteran’s Affairs says it best:
November 11 is Veterans Day. Today, Americans honor those who served our Nation in uniform. They are our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters, our children, and our neighbors. Remembering their service helps repay the debt we owe them.
If you are a veteran, or know of any, there are some special offerings for today.
Places like Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Applebees, Red Lobster, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and many, many more are offering vets meals, discounts and more. Check the list. Just their way of showing appreciation.
If you want to help and give back many places are accepting donations or giving portions of proceeds for veterans. Another way to give thanks.
And if you know a vet who is in need help – especially older vets – a good first source is USA.gov where housing, health and other information is available.
